Chongqing - On June 22, as China's highest acrobatic award, the National Magic - Comedy Competition of the 12th China Acrobatic Jinju Award concluded in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The original magic work Fairy Scattering Flowers stood out from over a hundred programs and won the Gold Award with the best result. 

Fairy Scattering Flowers is co-created by Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe Co., Ltd., Yuzhong District Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, Yongchuan District Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, and Chongqing School of Arts. It marks another victory for the Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe after winning the gold award at this competition with Phantom Flying Pigeon in 2018, Fairy Beans in 2021, and Swinging Youth in 2022, achieving a four-time championship in this competition.

The Fairy Scattering Flowers is themed around the Dunhuang desert, with the magic trick of producing flowers from thin air as its creative core. The image of the celestial maiden in the work is holy and beautiful, exuding strength amidst gentleness and grace. Through elements like "conjuring flowers," "sprinkling flowers," "scattering flowers," and "conjuring butterflies," the performance depicts the vibrant vitality of blooming flowers in the forest and the mesmerizing dance of butterflies fluttering.

Accompanied by a newly created music piece possessing spirituality and vitality and complemented by costumes featuring characteristics of Dunhuang flying apsaras murals as well as a dreamlike and colorful "cloud realm" stage, it gives the audience an enchanting visual and auditory experience reminiscent of a surreal fairyland, leaving them refreshed and amazed. 

By incorporating dance into magic performance, it injected new vitality into magic creation, satisfying contemporary people's pursuit of cultural arts. This achieved a harmonious unity of artistic and aesthetic values, representing a successful innovation in magic creation. It has promoted the excellent traditional Chinese culture and met contemporary people's aspirations for cultural arts.

Since the Fairy Scattering Flowers entered the finals of the Jinju Award in April this year, the Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe has been actively preparing to continue showcasing the strength and charm of Chongqing magic on the national stage. They have explored integrating Dunhuang elements' characteristics with magic art, continually adjusted stage design, and implemented several sets of stage lighting, props, and costume schemes to enhance the performance's overall cultural connotation and artistic level. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for them once again to win the gold award at this year's competition.
