A two-way, two-lane road shared by public and rail, the lower level of Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge will offer a unique scene where rail trains and cars travel side by side.

The Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge's vertical elevator was completed last April. This allows citizens to travel directly from Nanbin Road and Beibin Road to the bridge deck.

The vertical elevator project at Chaotianmen Bridge includes four steel structure elevators. Two elevators on the Jiangbei District side connect Beibin Second Road to the bridge, while two on the Nan'an District side connect Fuxing Street to the bridge.

Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, a landmark in Chongqing, is admired by locals and tourists alike. It has won numerous national engineering awards and is known as "the first bridge at the gateway of the Yangtze River in the mountain city."

As of February 2024, Chongqing boasts over 16,000 bridges, encompassing beam, arch, cable-stayed, suspension, and steel frame types across highways, railways, and municipal infrastructure.

Known as the "Bridge Capital of China," Chongqing has set 17 world records for bridges, including the longest-span steel arch bridge, the longest dual-use railway arch bridge, and the world's pioneering cable-stayed bridge.
