The China International Smart Industry Exposition (hereinafter referred to as "Smart China Expo") is co-sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Association of Science and Technology. The first Smart China Expo was held in Chongqing International Expo Center from August 23 to August 25, 2018.

The theme of the first Smart China Expo is "Intelligence: Enabling the Economy and Enriching the Life". It located itself in "International Brand, National Standard, and Professional Event". Through “Meeting", "Exhibition", "Competition" and "Series Activities", it built a platform for communication and cooperation, gathering industry event, frontier exhibition, road show, communication seminar and smart experience for relevant industry organizations, enterprises, experts and scholars of the global intelligent industry.

"Meeting", refers to the opening ceremony and the Big Data Intelligence Summit. Government leaders, experts and scholars, industry leaders and leaders of professional

institutions were invited to conduct dialogue and discussion or keynote speeches around the Internet, big data and intelligence topics, so as to reach new consensus and form new achievements.

Smart China Expo - Empowering economy, enriching life

"Exhibition“, refers to the exhibition of Smart China Expo. Around new products, new technologies, new formats and new modes in the field of global big data intellectualization, the exhibition set up comprehensive exhibition areas, large enterprises exhibition areas, innovative exhibition areas and special exhibition areas, intelligent experience plaza. Among them, the Smart Experience Square, which was innovatively launched by the First Smart China Expo, simulated the future smart community and constructed application scenarios such as education, home, shopping, medical treatment and so on.

"Competition" took the theme of "High Technology Content, Wide Participation Scope, and Good Display Effect". The well-known enterprises and institutions at home and abroad held the unpiloted challenge competition, the civil UAV performance competition, the global "Internet plus" innovation and entrepreneurship competition, the Chongqing open data innovation application grand contest, and the ten "black science and technology" appraisal competitions.

"Series of activities" included 7 thematic forums, 2 theme activities and 8 professional forums as well as several series of activities on intelligent applications. It focused on the semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, 5G and future network, industrial internet, intelligent over-computing, intelligent application, and high-quality life. At the same time, the Intelligent Development Index of Big Data and the policies of Chongqing Integrated Circuit and Industrial Internet were issued.

Status of Contract Signed

According to the official data of the Smart China Expo, 501 significant projects have been signed, with a total investment of RMB 612 billion. Among them, 56 projects were signed on the Expo, with an investment of RMB 190 billion. Another 445 projects were separately signed outside the Expo with an investment of 422 billion yuan, covering all fields of advanced technology, large data, and intelligent innovation.

Significance

Holding the first Smart China Expo is an important measure to implement the New Era Artificial Intelligence Development Plan and accelerate the development of China's artificial intelligence industry. Work together and strive to build the "Smart China Expo" into an AI technology release platform, an industry gathering platform, and an investment and financing docking platform, promote the sharing of resources and high-efficiency use of the intelligent industry as well as the intelligent development of the AI industry. At the same time, the "Smart China Expo" held in Chongqing also strongly promoted the gathering of AI innovation elements in western China, helping Chongqing to find the focus and promote industrial upgrading. It accelerated the development of the western region with intelligent industries and supported the development of the Yangtze River economic belt.
